[Blocks] #2 – The 4G Guide to Getting Going…Get Unstuck Today!

Ready to Get in Motion and STAY In Motion?

We are working this month on how to get yourself out of a stall with the Alpha Life’s 4G Guide to Getting Going.

This is important for you, even if you feel “good” right now. We all hit stalls. We all get stuck. Let’s learn how to break free.

Last week, we looked at your GROUND, which includes your WHY and environment, emotions and commitment. First G – Check Your GROUND.

Critical Shift in Your Focus: STOP trying to never GET stuck. DO become a Jedi Master at getting UNSTUCK using the 4G Guide. The 2nd G is Check Your GRIP.

Your GRIP is your CLARITY. How well do you understand your idea and goal?

If you have ever tried to pick up a bar of wet soap that fell in the shower, you know how important your grip is!

Clarity is power. I’m a builder girl and use tools. If you’ve ever used a screwdriver, you know that you have the most turning power (torque) when you have a good strong grip.

When do you tell someone to “Get a grip!”? When they are freaking out, spinning and panicking. Get a grip means to focus on what is important to your goal and shut out the other distractions.

Do you…

1) know clearly what the goal is?

2) know what is critical to reach it?

3) know how to manage everything ELSE while you do what you must?

4) know what tools you need to help you?

5) know what the next clear step is?

Answering these 5 questions means you have a good GRIP on your situation.

Assume your boss tells you there is a major problem with the firm’s biggest client and she wants you to “get a grip” on the situation. You would know that you need to review what’s happened, distill the situation into it’s essence and figure out the next, clear step.

Why It Is SOO Hard to Do the Next Thing??

It is almost always because you aren’t CLEAR on the next right step.

You cannot be clear on the next step until you can answer the 4 questions above that all proceed ACTING. Most Alphas are stuck but still moving without clear purpose.

If you are hanging off a cliff, stop swinging your legs! Stop and check your GRIP. Get clear on what comes next. That clarity will take you out of overwhelm and make whatever you are facing feel manageable.

In Joy,

P.S Random things to know! Torque made me look up horsepower. Horsepower Definition: The amount of energy needed to lift 550 lbs, 1 foot in 1 second. Or move 33,000 lbs in 1 minute – about 8 average sized cars!!

To give you some scale- the engine in your push behind lawn mower is 2-7 horsepower and on a new Ford Mustang it’s 310-475.

Know where this came from? A guy just made it up around 225 years ago to have standard measure and we all went along with it! (See why you need to just Get Going??)

Read short, non-techy article about how they “made up” horsepower here: How Stuff Works – Horsepower

P.S.S I’m so excited to be a teacher in an online summit that is PERFECT for me – www.RiseUpKickASS.com PERFECT name for this women’s Empowerment Project!
